National Book Awards
I try to keep track of most of the book awards given each year. Our extended family reads voraciously & I print out the lists & use them for Christmas gifts. Usually I buy all of the children's books for my kids (not that they read them- I do). Anyway here are this year's National Book Awards, given last Wednesday:

Anyhow, this weekend I'm reading P.C. Cast's Goddess of Spring and we're walking in the local breast cancer 5k. Currently watching a male contorionist on Cirque du Soliel's tv series Solstrom on Bravo- TOTALLY YUMMY!! Highly recommended!

In a few years I hope to see "Sir Louis" by J.D. Thompson under the children's literature list. lol. Okay. Maybe that's a bit optimistic...
Have fun doing the Race tomorrow. Have you done it before? How ironic is it that I've done it for the past several years and the first year it has super significance, I can't do it? lol. Oh well. There's always next year.
We're finally getting our cool weather and I'm so glad. I'm looking forward to enjoying the great outdoors! We had 90 degree days this past week!! That's just wrong.

Hi, Jen! How did your treatment go? I'm sure you're happy it's nearly over.
This will be the first time we've done one of the races. Don't know why we haven't except that we wanted to do it as a family & our youngest has been too young (or lazy?) until this year. He's ten now & plenty big enough to walk 3 miles.
Will yopu wear a pink hat when you walk next year?
