Squires' Body Electric fizzles
Tried to start Susan Squires' Body Electric & haven't had much luck. I know Tara recommended it. I enjoy Squires' books usually, but this is the second time this one is a non starter for me. I'm reluctant to toss it since I feel like I ought to like it & ought to read it all, but I can't do it. Life's too short to force yourself to read something. This isn't high school after all.
Taking the kiddies out shopping this evening. Might be a bookstore along the way...I'll let you know if I buy anything. I see ice cream in my future. LOTS of ice cream.

I don't read much futuristic or sci fi, so I thought this was a good one. I got it from Maili's "Good Reads" list.
Sure, pass the buck to me, Tara(!) :D
Amanda, I had similar problems with BODY ELECTRIC. I had it for about two years and during that time, I made about four attempts to read it. Before I made a book clear-out, I persisted with BE and at around 30th page, it clicked and became a keeper.
Exactly same thing happened with Susan Andersen's excellent Romantic Suspense novel, EXPOSURE.
That might be the thing with you? But having said that, I think you may enjoy SS's other book NO MORE LIES more. That and Susan Andersen's EXPOSURE if you haven't read it yet.
But you're right - if it doesn't work, there are other books to try. :D Thanks.
I'll hang on to it & try again. I've not read much in the last few days, maybe it'll be easier tomorrow.
Thanks, ladies!
